Charter Meeting
The South Knoxville Rotary was chartered May 30, 1951. Our Sponsor was the Knoxville Rotary Club (downtown). South Knoxvile Rotary is club @ 3886, zone 30, Rotary international District 6780. The membership at the time of charter was_20 and the charter members were. On may 4, 1987 the U.S. Supremee Coourt ruled women could be members of the Rotary International. The membership has had significant increase world wide since that date. Following this action our club took in several well quailified woen members. Among them was our first woman President Marian Oates, who served 1993-94.
